Success in the schools sector
Rehau underfloor heating has been installed in a new build science block at Marlborough School in Woodstock by specialist installer Anders Heating.
Rehau and Anders Heating were specified on the project by consultants Mouchel working on behalf of Oxfordshire County Council. M&E contractors were Oxford Pipework Services and main contractor was the Leadbitter Group.
Anders fixed the Rehau Pe-Xa underfloor heating pipework quickly and efficiently in a double meander pattern using the RAUFIX rail prior to screeding on both the ground floor and first floor of the 1250sq m building. The heat source for the installation is gas fired central plant.
Underfloor heating was chosen for the project because it allowed freedom for the interior layout of the building and maximised the efficiency of the central plant. Anders Heating was specified on the basis of its experience in the schools sector and the overall quality of its Rehau product and service.
The new science block provides eight labs and an ICT learning area for the 1000 pupils at the Church of England secondary school.
