Pipekit has launched its Standard Design Prefabricated HDPE Drainage Stacks, making them the first independent UK company to produce and sell standard off the shelf stack fabrications. Pipekit, who has invested heavily in its prefabrication business in recent years, has developed this range to meet the needs of contractors who are increasingly looking for an off the shelf fabricated drainage product that helps maintain the quality of installation, but reduces the delays in waiting for designing bespoke fabrications.

Pipekit launched its prefabricated business three years ago in answer to the growing offsite market and the need for prefabricated pipe and drainage solutions that could help the construction sector address: the shortage of skilled trades people joining the industry, the increased need for time savings on site and the reduction of carbon emissions. Prefabricated pipe and drainage solutions fulfil these needs, but more recently Pipekit noted that not all contractors required bespoke offerings. Many construction projects have repetitive drainage requirements and therefore introducing a standard, off the shelf stack range, would provide a better fit for many of its prefabrication customers.

Pipekit’s Standard Design Prefabricated HDPE Drainage Stacks are produced using a range of manufacturers including Geberit, Polypipe and Aliaxis, pending customer preference. Pipekit makes this range using Geberit, Terrain or Akatherm products to cover different specification requirements, and holds all three in stock for off shelf purchase.  The new range can be used for various vertical drainage stacks for soil and waste transfer and in bathrooms, ensuites and kitchen and utility cupboards.

The new product launch is part of an ongoing investment by Pipekit to grow its Prefabrication business and is being spearheaded by Lloyd Winter, Technical Design & Support Manager. Winter was brought in by the company to advance its fabrication offering for above-ground drainage systems and provide independent design and technical support for the offsite manufacturing product solutions. Commenting on the launch, Lloyd Winter said: “Introducing a standard, off the shelf fabrication system was one of my first objectives on joining Pipekit and I am delighted to see it come to market. I had been monitoring the marketplace for a while and knew that a UK manufactured, quality tested, off the shelf, standard stack solution was what contractors and installers needed”.

He continues: “The fact that we at Pipekit, as an independent business, can now provide design and production of both standard and bespoke stack fabrications is a huge advancement.  Being able to offer a prefabricated in-house design and support service, that is backed up by our dedicated technical support team, shows how far our added value offering has grown, in our attempt to meet our customers’ needs and the ever-changing industry requirements”.

The Pipekit Standard Design Prefabricated HDPE Drainage Stacks will offer huge time savings for contractors and installers because fabrications can be delivered on site or collected within a matter of hours from ordering. This feature significantly reduces delays for installation on site and deliveries to site can also match installation schedules, reducing costly on-site storage requirements.
