New LTHW cassette heater delivers even, whisper-quiet heating from a discreet 600mm ceiling grille, engineered to work efficiently with heat pumps and condensing boilers alike.

SPC, the Leicester-based heating solutions manufacturer, has announced the launch of the CurveVector cassette heater, a ceiling-mounted unit designed to deliver powerful, even heat distribution while keeping floors and walls completely clear.

Built around an innovative circular discharge grille, the CurveVector directs warm air evenly across 360 degrees, eliminating the cold spots that can affect conventional wall-mounted or perimeter heating systems. The unit fits discreetly into standard 600mm x 600mm suspended ceiling grids, or can be integrated into open ceiling designs, leaving only the circular grille visible from room level.

The launch comes at a time when specifiers across the education, healthcare and public sectors are under increasing pressure to move away from fossil-fuel heating while maintaining comfort standards. The CurveVector has been engineered specifically with this transition in mind, offering full compatibility with low water temperature heat pump systems as well as condensing boilers and waste heat recovery installations.

“Designers and facilities managers are increasingly being asked to decarbonise their heating without compromising on comfort or aesthetics. CurveVector has been designed to meet both challenges at once – it performs effectively at the lower flow temperatures that heat pumps produce, and it does so from a position that is completely inobtrusive. For schools, offices and public buildings where wall and floor space is at a premium, that combination is a genuine step forward,” said Richard Meskimmon, Technical Manager for SPC.

Performance and specification

The CurveVector is available with a choice of two- or three-row heating coils and delivers a heat output of 6.3–8.4kW at standard 82/71°C water temperatures, 4.2–5.9kW at 60/40°C for condensing boiler systems, and 2.9–4.1kW at 45/35°C for low-temperature heat pump installations. An energy-efficient EC fan motor keeps running costs down and noise levels as low as 29 NR, making the unit suitable for noise-sensitive spaces such as libraries, classrooms and reception areas.

Installation has also been simplified. A smart suspension system with adjustable brackets allows the unit to be fitted before or after the ceiling grid is in place, while side-mounted 22mm copper pipe connections and a rotatable grille make on-site alignment straightforward. Every unit is supplied complete with suspension brackets, air discharge adjustment strips, a white RAL 9016 grille, thermal overload protection and full installation instructions.

Where it fits

SPC has positioned the CurveVector for schools, universities and colleges, offices and reception areas, retail and showroom environments, libraries and museums, and banks, healthcare and other public buildings.  In short, any space where clear walls and floors are a priority and consistent, draught-free heat is essential.
