Plan for the ban
A new website dedicated to R22 refrigerant legislation has just been launched by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Europe (MHIE) where companies affected by the new regulations can check out key deadlines in the run up to the ban on R22 and access advice on the options available whether they are an end user, a specifer, installer or service engineer.
With the countdown to a complete ban on the use of the ozone depleting R22 refrigerant in 2014 already underway, doing nothing is not an option warns David Lettis, UK Sales Manager for MHIE. “We’ve introduced our new website so companies can find out what they need to do to comply, and when. It provides a common sense approach to the legislation and explains why it’s important to plan the phase-out of your R22 systems sooner rather than later.”
As well as ensuring compliance, converting to the latest energy efficient systems that use eco-friendly R410a refrigerant will reduce electricity costs and businesses may be able to take advantage of Enhanced Capital Allowances.
