NICEIC, the UK’s certification body for the building services industry, has launched a new Pocket Guide app.

Free to download and available to all NICEIC certified businesses, the Pocket Guide app houses a bank of 35 technical reference guides, all updated to BS 7671:2018+A2:2022 where relevant. Also included are handy calculators for checking Zs values, Adiabatic Equations, Conductor Resistance and Length and Design Current.

Fully searchable and clearly displayed, these engaging guides are optimised for handheld devices and operate seamlessly across both Android and iOS systems.

Furthermore, thanks to the digital delivery, all content can be adapted in line with any changes in regulations, meaning users can be assured that the information shown is up to date.

“The Pocket Guide app is set to be a welcomed addition for NICEIC contractors,” said NICEIC’s head of technical services, Paul Collins.

“Previously offered in physical formats and via the NICEIC website, we know these guides are well used and sought after. Therefore, making them more accessible and environmentally friendly was a logical and important step.

“When designing the app, we paid particular attention to functionality, ensuring it was both intuitive and fully searchable. We also focused on the clarity of the display, which we think users will agree is fantastic.”

Initially loaded with 35 guides, covering topics such as Application of RCD’s and Risk Assessment in The Workplace, the NICEIC app will grow with additional content being added as required.

If your business is certified by NICEIC, you and your staff can download this app for free now.  Search NICEIC Pocket Guide App via your chosen app provider and input your company registration when prompted.  For more information, please visit www.niceic.com/pocketguides
