Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has been engaged in the development of new electricity substations during the past year. The facilities were developed as part of DEWA’s programme to provide an outstanding electricity and water supply service ensuring reliability and efficiency.
Luceco, along with energy partner Multimission Technical Services, provided energy efficient, cost-effective lighting to 10 facilities including 400 kV stations, with a conversion capacity of 2,020 MVA, and 132 kV substations, with a conversion capacity of 750 MVA, across several areas throughout Dubai. According to DEWA, the stations were constructed with technologies used to ensure the highest advancement and security standards. Luceco was the first LED manufacturer to be approved by DEWA after the decision was made to use LED over conventional light fixtures.
Eris HighBay and LuxPack Battens are installed in the 132kV GIS Rooms providing the required uniform illumination and Guardian Pro Floods were installed at roof deck level to light the service areas. Climate non corrosive weatherproof luminaires were used in Electrical and Cable rooms with LuxPanel Extra recessed luminaires illuminating circulation and administration facilities further demonstrating the technical qualities of Luceco luminaires in technically advanced environments such as the facilities within the DEWA infrastructure.
