Continuing its expansion and growth strategy, Elta has invested in two new machines to streamline and improve its manufacturing capabilities. This comes on the back of the air movement specialist’s 50th anniversary.
These two machines include a new Trumpf TruPunch 1000 Punch Press at Elta’s Kingswinford, West Midlands headquarters, and a new 6kW Auto Loading Laser at its Fareham base. The installation comes with new electrics, flooring, and a mezzanine platform, with the total expenditure being over £650,000. The investment allows Elta to increase its manufacturing efficiency and capacity on its ventilation solutions at both sites.
Specifically, the laser’s automated bed feature enhances efficiency across the business as it requires less in-person supervision, freeing team members up to focus on other projects, increasing factory capacity. With its clean-cut edges, the laser not only improved the quality of the end product but also boosts efficiency by eliminating the need for manual finishing and contributes to improved safety by producing smoother, more consistent edges.
Damian Buxton, CEO at Elta UK, said: “We have chosen to make these investments as we see the value and importance of being a UK manufacturer. They enhance our capabilities for the benefit of both our customers and employees, and ensure we keep moving forward to challenge the rest of the industry. Our new machines were both installed in what is our 50th year anniversary, helping to mark our intentions with growth and expansion.”
The investment in machinery follows on from several other major developments in Elta’s 50th year milestone, heralded under its new strapline of ‘Air Movement, Air Quality’. This includes rebranding its UK and Ireland businesses, unifying them under the ‘Elta’ name earlier this year. Elta’s parent company, Elta Group, has also just announced the acquisition of Air Movement Supplies (AMS), a leading manufacturer and supplier of ventilation equipment in Ireland. AMS joined Elta Group in August 2024 to significantly expand Elta’s distribution network and strengthen its product range, production capabilities and allowing it to better serve customers in the Emerald Isle.
In addition, Acoustica was recently rebranded to Elta, and is now Elta’s specialist noise control division, designed to help offer guidance and support in solving complex noise issues originating from ventilation equipment.
Mark Rickard, CEO of Elta Group, added: “This new investment will significantly boost our operating capacity, enabling us to meet customer’s needs much more efficiently. Along with our rebrand, these are great steps in cementing our position in the HVAC industry and highlights our intentions beyond our 50th year anniversary. It shows what Elta is about – reshaping the world’s understanding of air quality and contributing to a healthier, more sustainable future.”
