Chris Perry joins the team
Buro Happold’s North Europe region has recently been bolstered by the appointment of Christopher Perry to establish a design management team in Glasgow.
Chris, a chartered architect with over 30 years’ experience in architecture and engineering disciplines, began his new post as Design Manager at the multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy in June. He had previously collaborated with Buro Happold during his 11 years at IDC Architects and Engineers in Glasgow. This work had been recognised with a RIBA award for the new campus for the South Danish University where Chris had been responsible for the engineering research facilities.
Buro Happold’s specialist design management team helps to deliver cost-effective and functional solutions. It also places a sharp focus on the physical quality and safety of the built environment. Applying a wide range of professional skills to co-ordinate and optimise the design process, it is an essential element of all projects and of particular significance on complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects.
Chris said: “Working at Buro Happold we have the opportunity to contribute to some of the most exciting building projects in Scotland, Ireland and Scandinavia. Our engineering teams bring a comprehensive and integrated approach to the design process which allows innovative designs to be developed that will perform as well as delight.”
In his new role Chris is managing the design of Wexford County Council’s new headquarters as well as the new sports facility and swimming pool for the University of Strathclyde.
